In Taiwan's protests on affordable housing, it's always the women who hold out to the very end in defense of their homes. To them, it was the home of their grandfather, father, husband, and future children. It was never their own homes that they were defending. When facing the state apparatus, legal system and capitalism in a patriarchal society, they resisted with the feminine traits of resilience, flexibility and courage.
