2021 New Taipei City Documentary Award holds awards ceremony on October 31. On the ceremony, not only 11 award-selected films were issued honorary certificate of merit but announced 3 finalist films. New Taipei City Mayor, Hou Yu-ih says, “New Taipei City Documentary Award has stepped in 11 years, it connects worldwide from Asia to Europe and even the whole world. Each film recorded stories of different lives, wishing more award-selected films shine on the International stages in the near future.”
“In these recent years, we have seen New Taipei City Documentary Awarded films that has developed to full length movie and screen in mainstream theaters, especially “Green Jail” and “Eagle Hands” this year are highly well-reputed, either in Taiwan or Internationally. It is such a great honor to the directors, New Taipei City is also reflected glory of their success.
The 3 award finalist are “Étude”, “Always in My Mind” and “A Tayal” in with award prize NTD.100,000, 80,000 and 60,000 in gold to bronze place order.
“The Gold Prize - “Étude” is the family story of director himself, we can taste the bitter-sweet and sadness of their lives in the films, and it is very touchable. “ says mayor Hou Yu-ih.
Not only were 11 award-selected teams invited to the ceremony, Ben Tsiang, the founder /chairman of CNEX Foundation, director Chen Chih Han, Tseng Wen-Chen and Lin Chien-Hen also attended to share the joy of award winners.
New Taipei City Documentary Award has held for 11 years, it always keep an open and diverse spirit to deliver a diverse yet creative power to the whole world. 140 films signed up for the award, and only 11 works stood out in such a competitive list, it is definitely not easy and outstanding. - Department of Information, New Taipei City Government.
11 Award-selected films of New Taipei City Documentary Award will be premiering during November 18 to 23 on the website of 2021 New Taipei City International Documentary Festival (https://www.ntpcdf.tw), directors of films will also have an online after-screening conversation with audience.
