Born in China to a Taiwanese father, two Japanese siblings inherit the trauma of political persecution that imprisoned their father and left him to die in exile. Now in their seventies in Tokyo, the sister struggles with insomnia while the brother searches for his father through memories, writing, and dreams. Discovering their father listed as having “no descendants” in the family genealogy, they embark on a journey to reclaim their history and belonging.
