EVA Air President Clay Sun said that, in addition to providing safe and comfortable flight services, EVA Air also places strong emphasis on cultural promotion and corporate sustainability. Over the past five years, the New Taipei Theater has become a highly anticipated in-flight selection for passengers and has received positive feedback, showcasing Taiwan’s soft power to the world.
EVA Air continues to expand its global network, including the launch of the Taipei–Washington direct route on June 26, more international travelers will be able to experience the festival at 30,000 feet and gain exposure to the diverse perspectives of Taiwanese documentary filmmaking.
The New Taipei City Information Department said the 2026 edition of the festival has selected 12 award-winning documentary films from past New Taipei City Documentary Film Awards, which will be released in four phases.
In May, the first lineup includes The Wi(n)dow, directed by Wu Hsing-Ying, Where the Bees Belong, directed by Hsu Chung-Yen, and Eight Years: K9, co-directed by Chang Wei-Chih and Lin Yi-Ting.
In July, the second phase features A Silent Before Farewell, directed by Li I-Hsuan, Floating Nest, directed by Wu Chih-Chieh, and Childhood In Between, directed by Tsai Chia-Hsuan.
In September, the third phase includes The Rover, directed by Wang An-Min, Border Weaving, co-directed by Yeh Yin-Lung and Huang Ting-Yu, and The Wandering, Nationals directed by Cheng Po-Yuan.
In November, the final lineup includes A PONG, directed by Mei Li, Study hard, directed by Chen Wei-Cih, and Memory of the Theatre, directed by Kung Wan-Hsiang.
The program aims to guide in-flight audiences through diverse themes and perspectives, allowing them to experience the emotional depth of documentary storytelling from New Taipei City.
To mark the festival’s fifth anniversary, the New Taipei City Information Department has also launched an online giveaway campaign.
Starting today, members of the public who participate in online activities on the Facebook page “感動,無所不在” will have a chance to win prizes provided by the New Taipei City Government and EVA Air.
The initiative encourages audiences to engage both online and offline and to experience the emotional impact of documentary films.
